When will the third season of See be released? It can be difficult to keep track of everything in the current great battle for streaming service dominance because there are so many different platforms, each with its own original content, to choose from.
Apple TV Plus is certainly going all out on that front, with the Jason Momoa sci-fi series See, for example, being a mainstay of the service’s original programming lineup.
According to the show’s creator Steven Knight, it was one of the series used to launch Apple’s streaming service, with the star power of Aquaman himself and Peaky Blinders creator Jason Momoa serving as enough of a draw to keep the show going.
To make it to a third season nowadays, especially in this competitive environment where shows are being cancelled left, right, and center, is no small accomplishment.
When will we be able to see Jason Momoa and his Alkenny tribe once more on the big screen? What is in store for our fearless warrior Baba Voss in Season 3 of the CW series? And who will be returning for the upcoming season of See, please tell us.
You won’t have to go into a dystopian future to find the answers you’re looking for because we’ve done all of the legwork for you.
Because Apple had already renewed See for a third season prior to the premiere of season 2 in June of 2021, we’d been aware of season 3’s impending arrival for a considerable amount of time.
Unfortunately, there is still no official release date set for the next season of the show created by Peaky Blinders writer, Steven Knight, as of this writing.
For the time being, the only thing we have to go on is the fact that the previous seasons of See have all been released on Apple TV Plus at the tail end of their respective seasons. Season 1 premiered in November 2019, and season 2 began airing in August 2021, after a few setbacks along the way.
In other words, while we don’t have an exact release date for See season 3 just yet, we can expect it to premiere on Apple TV Plus in the fall of 2022.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a trailer for See season 3 available at this time. However, according to reports, production on season 3 began in May 2021 and was completed in November of last year, indicating that the footage is somewhere in the Apple archives.
Even though the series’ filming has been completed for quite some time, we would expect to see some trailer action in the near future, and we will keep you posted as soon as one becomes available.
THE PLOT OF SEE SEASON 3: WHAT EVENTS WILL TAKE PLACE IN SEE SEASON 3?
Season 2 of the dystopian series introduced us to Edo Voss, played by Dave Bautista, who was a terrifying character. Edo Voss is the brother of Momoa’s character, Baba Voss, and he has come to kick asses and generally make Baba’s life as miserable as possible in every way imaginable.
A number of significant developments occurred during the season 2 finale, and the fates of several characters were left in the balance. First and foremost, Baba Voss’s daughter Haniwa was caught in the crossfire of arrows, and while she was able to return to the fortress, many other soldiers from the Alkenny tribe were not so fortunate.
The ramifications of this tragedy will almost certainly play a significant role in season 3.
We had all been waiting for this moment since Edo’s attack on the fortress ended in failure. He faced Baba Voss face to face in the battle that we had all been looking forward to.
Baba is apprehensive about killing his evil brother, but when Edo lunges at him, Baba has no choice but to plunge a sword into Edo’s stomach. Is this the beginning of the end for Edo’s tyranny? Although it appears likely, anything is possible in the world of science fiction.
However, while everything appears to be relatively peaceful in Pennsa at the conclusion of season 2, we already know that the calm before a storm does not last long when it comes to See, and season 3 will undoubtedly bring even more violence and fighting for Baba Voss and his tribe.
And, of course, there’s the tantalizing thread of Queen Kane and her pregnancy to consider. A visit from Paris (Alfre Woodard) to Kane at the end of season 2 results in the latter being slashed across the throat. In Season 3, Kane vows to kill anyone who attempts to take her child away from her. Season 3 will most likely focus on the ramifications of this massive death, as well as Kane’s deadly promise.
At this point, there haven’t been any official casting announcements for See season 3, but we can make a pretty good educated guess based on what we’ve heard so far. First and foremost, it goes without saying that the film’s star, Jason Momoa, will reprise his role as Baba Voss.
While death in science fiction and fantasy is never truly final, we would be very surprised if Alfre Woodard or Dave Bautista returned for season 3. We will, however, see a lot more of Sylvia Hoeks’s character, Queen Kane, the serial killer.
The show’s producers have yet to confirm whether or not any new cast members will be brought in, following in the footsteps of bringing in star power like Bautista for season 2. However, we believe it is highly likely that a big name will make their way to Pennsa.
The last time we saw Haniwa and Wren, they were on the battlefield, sharing an emotional kiss before heading their separate ways. We’re confident that both Nesta Cooper and Eden Epstein will return to reprise their respective roles, but will their relationship be able to withstand the pressures of the show?
We are confident that more members of the supporting cast will return for season 3, but until they are officially confirmed, we will stick with the actors who are most likely to reprise their roles.
The following actors will appear in See season 3:
So that’s all we know for now, but don’t worry, we’ve got our eyes wide open and are keeping an eye out for any new information! If you’re interested in learning more about other fantasy series like See, you might want to look into our guide to the best Game of Thrones characters.
